Tests

DVSA practical tests are normally taken at Guilddford, once you have past your PSV theory & medical

Vehicle

Lessons ususally take place in your school's minibus, though we can organise one at an additional cost.

101 Restriction

Passing your test will remove the 101 restriction so you can drive a 17 seater minibus

Price

Lessons are £40 per hour or £275 for course including DVSA vocational test.

How many lessons?

Training usually takes on average, 4 hours and you will take your DVSA test the following day.

101 restriction???

If you passed your test after January 1997 the 101 restriction will prevent you from driving a minibus which has more than 9 seats.

MINIBUS (D1 & E)

LESSONS

Training normally takes, on average, around 4 hours with the DVSA test the following day and is usually best done with at least one other training partner. Training can be carried out at times best suited to fit personal and, where appropriate, school commitments. Training hours are tailored to individual requirements.

VEHICLE

Your training would normally be done in one of your school’s 17-seater with tachograph minibuses. Although, if one is not available, we can organise one for an additional cost.

FEES

The hourly training fee in your own/school vehicle is £40 and a test day fee is £275 which includes the DVSA vocational test fee and at least 1.5 hours training beforehand and the provision of mirrors, L-plates, etc. to ensure the minibus is DVSA test compliant. Fees for minibus and trailer (cat D1E) training and test would be the same.

DURATION

You will need to take a separate minibus test If you took your licence after 1 Jan 1997. If you acquired your licence prior to this date and drive a minibus as part of your job (teachers, carers, etc.) you will still need to take a vocational test to remove the 101 restriction. Training includes teaching the reverse manoeuvre and learning to control a larger passenger vehicle.

TESTS

After you have successfully completed your medical and passed your PSV theory test, your practical test will be booked for Guildford DVSA vocational test centre although, very occasionally, your test could (under certain circumstances) be booked in Southampton or Lancing. CPC training & test can also be organised.
